At the southern coast of the peninsula Pelješac is VIGANJ, a place of rich sailors, and with a tourist-gastronomic tradition. The bay of Viganj is just right for sailing because of its mild climate and the mistral which blows in the summer, the reason that a championship in wind surfing takes place every year.Beside the beautiful gravel beach, which is approx. 500 m long, umbrella tree woods and lonely nudist beaches, Viganj offers you also the possibility for a hike to the peak of Sveti Ilija (961 meters). A diving school is offered likewise. Viganj has approx. 300 beds in private accommodations as well as five private camping sites, which can accept approx. 2000 people.Viganj has good transportation connections to Korcula (ship) and to Orebic, Trpanj and Dubrovnik (bus). Numerous trip possibilities exist into the surrounding areas.
